August 16th Update

Hey we all enjoy uneventful weather. Wednesdays cruises were more of the same beautiful summer weather. The winds were light and the seas were Calm.  We cruised at 4 miles off the beach with very little ship movement.

The night cruise was the same with interludes of thunder showers and mother nature light shows.....

Today the forecast is the same....Great day to come and check us out.......the winds will be light and the seas will be near flat.

Ship handling:  We have been talking about transverse thrust and its effect on maneuvering the ship.  A "sharp"  captain, who wants to "look" good in his ship handling will take advantage of things he cannot change....like transverse thrust.....Myself being "all of the above" I like to take advantage....If any of you watch closely as I make my final approach to the dock....the last thing I do is back for a short time on the stb propeller....this propeller when backed will "walk"  the ship to the right...thus bring the stern smartly to the dock and simultaneously stops the ships final forward motion.....

You know the feeling...when you make that "perfect" parallel park into a tight spot on a busy street.......I know you secretly look around to see if anyone noticed.......

Come sail with us and see for yourself
Capt Tim
