Victory Casino Cruises Continues Play it Forward!

October 24th Cruise to Benefit The Donna Foundation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Victory Casino Cruises (VCC) is proud to continue Play it Forward, a philanthropic program developed to give back to the local community and its many worthy causes. The program enables VCC to raise awareness and monies for designated local charitable organizations on a monthly basis.

During the month of October, breast cancer awareness month, VCC will partner with The Donna Foundation, a local nonprofit group that raises money to be used exclusively for the critical needs of First Coast women and men living with breast cancer.

“Anyone who’s ever had a serious illness knows that even if one is fortunate enough to have good insurance, it doesn’t cover everything,” said Julie Terrazzano, Director of The Donna Foundation. “We are privileged to have the opportunity to assist those living with breast cancer, and it’s programs like Victory’s Play It Forward that allows us to continue our support and raise awareness in our community.”

“Every day on the First Coast four women are told they have breast cancer,” said Lester Bullock, CEO for Victory Casino Cruises. “This program gives us the opportunity to support one unique and worthy local group each month. When we learned of The Donna Foundation, we knew they would be a perfect beneficiary for this program.”

For each guest aboard the Victory II on October 24, 2014 at 7 p.m., VCC will donate $5 to CFPF. For a sold-out cruise, that equates to up to $3,000.

About The Donna Foundation

The Donna Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was developed by Donna Deegan, a three-time breast cancer survivor and mother of two in 2003. The Foundation provides financial and emotional support for the critical needs of First Coast women and men living with breast cancer. The Foundation partners with Catholic Charities Jacksonville Regional Office, the largest social service agency in the area, to administer these funds. Catholic Charities’ social workers lovingly screen each recipient to ensure The Foundation is a good steward of the donation received. Checks are then made payable to the mortgage company, the utilities carrier, the doctor’s office, etc. To date, The Foundation has assisted over 7,000 who are living with breast cancer. About Hope for a Single Mom

Hope for a Single Mom is a nonprofit organization that helps single mothers during their battle with breast cancer in Brevard County. 100% of all money raised goes to help these moms!  Hope for a Single Mom started a few years ago when Denise More, a single mom, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her sister, Donna Sullivan, handled the finances while Denise went through treatment.

The reality of survival with no income was a shock. Donna and her coworkers contributed some of their income, and shortly thereafter, the citizens of Brevard asked how they could help. The first donation for this charity, totaling just over $5,000, was counted into Denise's hand at a ceremony held at the Melting Pot.

Activities like the Victory Casino Cruise on Friday, July 11th and the family friendly wrestling event on Saturday, September 13rd are ways for the community to contribute and recognize where their donations are going. ‘Hope to a Single Mom’ relieves a lot of financial worry at a time when avoiding stress is vital to recovery. Reserve your seats today.

Casino Cruises Return to Jacksonville

MAYPORT, Fla. -- A new casino cruise line is taking a gamble on Jacksonville, dropping anchor in Mayport, and looking to hire about 200 people.

Victory Casino Cruises Coming to Jacksonville Mid-June 2014

Written by Jensen Werley Reporter - Jacksonville Business Journal - Check out full article here

Based upon the success he's seen in Central Florida, the owner of casino ship coming to Jacksonville is betting local residents will go all in at the floating gaming establishment.

The Victory II, which will be setting sail from Mayport in mid-June, features a variety of gaming options, food, beverages and entertainment.

Lester Bullock, CEO of Victory Casino Cruises, said the quality of his product is what sets his ships apart from past ships, which weren't able to stay in the market.

"We're delivering a better product," he said. "It's not just gaming, it's an entertainment experience."

Bullock, who also has a ship in Cape Canaveral, said his crew modifies the entertainment to woo the clientele on the boat at any given time. He said during the day, when the crowd tends to be senior citizens, there will be live bands playing oldies.

At night, when the crowd is younger, the ship will have a fully-functioning nightclub on the top deck. He also expects high-quality, fresh food and drinks to be part of the experience.

"There are a lot of moving parts," said Bullock, who is putting the finishing touches on the ship, ticket area and dock, which will have a Key West aesthetic, making the entire area surrounding the ship "quaint and cute."

Bullock said he believes in his ship's ability to not only be successful, but to significantly influence Jacksonville's economy.

"Our direct impact is $10 to 12 million, but I'd say it's worth $30 to 40 million to the economy," Bullock said.

He said he expects to hire between 200 to 250 employees for the Jacksonville-based ship, which is 229 feet long, will service about 600 passengers and will have three decks.

Victory Casino Cruises has a 10-year agreement to dock at its Mayport slip.

"Mayport is a sleepy gem," he said. "I don't know if the locals want it woken up, but it is a gem."

While Florida has attempted to legalize more land-based gambling in the past, Bullock said he is not overly concerned. Right now, he said Jacksonville, northeast Florida and south Georgia is lacking gambling opportunities, and his ship will fill that void.

"If it works in Canaveral, I know it can work here," he said. "We really figured it out."
